Olive presses in the northern West Bank are servicing their machinery weeks earlier than usual, as growers expect a hot summer to bring the harvest forward.
Press owners said they were booking slots for families earlier than in previous years, and hiring seasonal workers ahead of the usual schedule.
"The trees decide the date, not the calendar," said Abu Khaled, who runs a family press. "This year they are telling us to be ready early."
Growers said yields look mixed, with some groves heavy with fruit and others affected by the heat.
Cooperatives are also preparing bottling and labelling for export buyers who want certified extra virgin oil.
